Paint Pops take months to create. Every weekend when I sit down to paint, the pallet from the weekend before is rubbed into a painting that didn't make the grade. I love the paint so much that I can't stand to throw any of it away. Making a Paint Pop began as a method to keep my old paint in a way that just entertains the eye. Sometimes I can look at the colors on the rubbing and remember what painting it came from. This under painting had been a diamond ring. You can see it shining through on the edges. It makes a wonderful subsurface.
