Paint Pop oil paintings take months to create. Every weekend when I sit down to paint, the palette from the weekend before is rubbed into a painting that didn't make the grade. I love the paint so much that I can't stand to throw any of it away. Making Paint Pops began as a method to keep my old paint in a way that just entertains the eye. Sometimes I can look at the colors on the rubbing and remember what painting whose paint is ensconced here. This background was a color blocking that was intended to become a different painting, but became a pPaint Pop instead.  The original 8 x 10 painting was of a gift shop in Harbour Town, Hilton Head Island.  The water reflections were't quite right, sooooo it made a beautiful night time atmosphere for a Paint Pop.  I love the moody nature of these colors.
