Paint Pops take months to create. Every weekend when I sit down to paint, the pallet from the weekend before is rubbed into a painting that didn't make the grade. I love the paint so much that I can't stand to throw any of it away. Making a Paint Pop began as a method to keep my old paint in a way that just entertains the eye. Sometimes I can look at the colors on the rubbing and remember what painting it came from.
This is one of the earliest Paint Pops, and one of my personal favorites. When the paint is somewhat dry, it has a lot of texture and makes these great peaks and blobs. This one is loaded with texture.
