Paint Pop oil paintings take months to create. Every weekend when I sit down to paint, the palette from the weekend before is rubbed into a painting that didn't make the grade. I love the paint so much that I can't stand to throw any of it away. Making a Paint Pop began as a method to keep my old paint in a way that just entertains the eye. Sometimes I can look at the colors on the rubbing and remember what painting whose paint is ensconced here. This background was a color blocking that was intended to become a different painting, but became a Paint Pop instead. The original 9 x 12 of this painting has a lot of dimenstion becuase the background and paint blobs have a lot of texture. This texture comes through beautifully in the prints.
